Does this ever happen to you? It happens to me. A lot. And not just when I am sewing. I often come up just a little short of what I need to finish a project. Oh well. The fix is usually simple. For that I am thankful. Cheers.

isn't that the truth!!! for me usually its the bobbin... then I have to decide if I am going to wind a new one or use a little of a different color. the opposite is the best, when you have enough to finish, with just a tiny bit left over. happy sewing!
I had to switch things around a bit on my last couple of projects to make sure all the visible thread matched. If I make that pattern again I'm starting with an untouched reel!
teeheehee, I can't help but let out a little giggle at this picture. Yes, I've run short of things just before the finish line, but somehow it's funnier to see it happen to someone else than to experience it yourself :) Luckily, crafty people seem to be good at improvising.
Oh, I know that feeling only too well. I've had such a delightful visit, poking in all your corners and feasting on your words and delightful photographs. Crochet is my "thing" although I've dabbled in most everything.
This happens to me a lot, too! I have a new sewing machine that warns me when my bobbin is getting low, but I ignore it and still run out! I hate to waste the thread.
for me, if I'm going to run out, I will definitely run out on the bobbin.
However, what I do is make the new bobbin, and when I'm doing test sews, samples, etc.. I use the extra thread on the bobbin for test sews to empty the bobbin with.

Look forward to a bigger photo of what you're working on; that chicken print looks like something of my grandmother's from the '50s!

Why does that happen? Is someone out there laughing?
At least now I know I'm not the only one...
