I don't think I will qualify for the mother-of-the-year award this year. Dang! At Christmas time, I was so busy sewing for other people who ordered totes and purses, that my own girls (and sisters) received an I.O.U. in the form of a gift certificate. I wasn't proud of the gift certificate. I'm even more embarassed to report that even though it is May, I have only made good on one (this purse was for my younger sister) of my I.O.U.'s until today. To make matters worse, I made a purse for my middle daughter, Paige, and then sold it out from underneath her nose. (Gasp!) Is that rude or what? Now you know my shame. You also know why Libbie was a bit concerned when I didn't have her pencil roll done at birthday time. My track record isn't so good. I'm so glad the girls love me anyway!
Here is my most recent attempt to live up to my promises. This is the purse Emily requested.
She picked out the style, fabric, and button. I think she has a pretty good eye. I told her I liked the purse so much that I thought I should keep it. I was only joking. Really. She didn't think it was funny...I probably deserved that.
Well, hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to sew I go. I'm headed downstairs to stitch up a few more promises.
XOXO,
Cassie
The bag is so cute! Like you, I never get my gift sewing done on time either. My two youngest are still waiting for their cross stitched Christmas stockings LOL

So so cute! She sure does have a good eye! I love that style bag where you can just throw all your stuff in it! Good to know I'm not the only one that doesn't make good on my sewing promises. A friend asked for something for her daughter in Jan...and well, I haven't started yet. I'm so mean.

Super cute bag! Is it from a pattern or your own styling? I am so new to the sewing scene that I have yet to see if my gift sewing will be met by IOUs or actual gifts. Here's hoping that I start early enough to get everything done before its due.

your page is fun, I like your bag & pencil rolls. I also LOVE fabric, collect it and am too scared to sew it. We might be emigrating soon, so I should sew it up ... But Ive been knitting like a granny lately :) I cant get enough done, now Im knitting bunnies. Im making them for this Christmas (or before if we emigrate) but my 3 kids (6,5&3yrs) keep eyeing them out and hinting to me!!!

I followed your blog from Tonya's PuddinPop Blog and just love it! The bag is cute as can be. The fabric combo just pops.
It seems like alot of us have IOU's out there. My worst offenders are quilts. I owe two of three children a quilt, my husband, and a friend.
Good luck with all the IOU's!!

I hide some of the things i make from my daughter because she always wants one! I would be sewing day and night if I made two of everything!
The bag is adorable. Cute fabric choices!
