Oh, look! I've stitched something without using the Amy Butler full moon polka dot in green. Shocking, I know. I was tempted, but I gave those green polkies a stare down and said not this time, my pretty. You march yourself right back to the shelves of love and take a break. I think I heard one of the polkies gasp. I will rise above this addiction...maybe.
I made these little wallets as Christmas gifts for my triplet girls, Emily, Becca, and Libbie. These little wallets were inspired by Pam's wallets at Sew Gracious . (Click on the link. Doesn't this wallet look cute in the green polkie? LOL!) She makes beautiful totes and wallets. Pop over and take a look, but do come back.
I'm also conquering my zip-aphobia. Until recently, I've been very scared of zippers. Not the zipper on my coat, or my jeans, or anything like that, but a zipper on a sewing project. With a little self-talk and a great tutorial from U-Handblog, I conquered my fear. I put a coin pocket with a zipper in these little wallets.
I knew that money and treasures would be lost if I didn't put a zipper in the wallet. I figured it was easier to learn to put a zipper in than to deal with the drama of a lost treasure. It really wasn't hard at all. Now I want to put zipper pockets in everything!
And this is totally off topic, but do you see that Barnes and Noble card? It reminded me of a Christmas gift I received from the girls. I think Mr. Handsome had something to do with it, too. Since Mr. Handsome and I chose not to exchange gifts this year, he won't admit to anything, but I know how these things work. Now back to what I was telling you...I am the proud owner of Anna Maria's new book, Seams To Me. Love it. I'm a lucky girl!
Happy Day--
Cassie

THere you go again... taunting me with your zipper skills! One day soon I will have to break down and try one. Loving the wallets. Such a great gift! You should make some for your shop!

These are wonderful and I like that they zip closed. I'm going to refer back to that zipper tute sometime. Glad you got your book too.

Those are lovely purses and I love the logic for having to learn how to add a zip LOL
Happy 2009, here's hoping it's a lovely healthy and crafty one.

I love those little zippy wallets! I am deathly afraid of zippers, but maybe this was what I needed to see to be brave enough to venture away from straight seams and the occasional gathering.
I am still waiting to get the new book, I've looked at it several times at the bookstore and drooled over it though.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend with your family.
